Description and operation of the cutter

The 801 SFX 060 ceramic drill bit is a specialized drill bit made of zirconium oxide, used in podiatry and nail styling. Similar to carbide drill bits, it features a system of precise cuts that allow air circulation during use. This prevents the drill bit from heating up, increasing treatment comfort and eliminating the risk of overheating the nail plate. When rotating clockwise, the blades intensively cut the material, allowing for quick and effective removal of the mass. When rotating counterclockwise, the drill bit glides across the surface, sealing the nail plate, eliminating the need for additional polishing after the treatment.

SFX cuts – small cross cuts

The 801 SFX 060 features SFX cuts, meaning fine, cross-shaped cuts for versatile use. These cuts are powerful enough to effectively remove gel, acrylic, and hybrid nail polish, and to treat thickened, traumatic, or fungal nails, while being gentle enough not to damage the natural nail plate. They allow for a fast, stable, and controlled work pace.

Material – zirconium oxide

Zirconium oxide is an exceptionally hard material used in prosthetics and dentistry, among other applications. It is durable, temperature-resistant, and safe for the nail plate. However, it is susceptible to crumbling, so ceramic cutters should be protected from falls—they can chip if subjected to a strong impact. The cutter's design minimizes vibration, ensuring precise and comfortable operation even at high speeds.

Application

The 801 SFX 060 ceramic cutter is suitable for:
– removing hybrid varnish
– removing gel and acrylic masses
– treatment of thick, overgrown nails
– dry and wet work

The 801 SFX 060 model has a working part with a diameter of 6 mm .
The shank diameter is 2.35 mm , which ensures compatibility with all podiatry and cosmetic milling machines on the market, including Baehr, Ruck, Gerlach, Orthofex, Promed, Raue, Süda, Xenox.

Turnover

The recommended speed for this model is up to 25,000 rpm .
The speed should be adjusted to the hardness of the mass and the working technique.

Disinfection and sterilization

Before each use, the tool should be inspected for cracks, chips, and contamination. After use, the cutter should undergo a full sanitization process:
– preliminary cleaning of tissue residues
– washing in an ultrasonic cleaner
– disinfection in an appropriate preparation
– steam sterilization at 134°C for at least 15 minutes (drying time 20 minutes)

The ceramic cutter is disinfectable and sterilizable. Every tool naturally wears out over time.
